Miss Asia Pacific
Miss Asia Pacific International is the oldest pageant that originated from Asia. It was first launched in 1968, originally as the "Miss Asia Quest" with 18 participating countries from Asia and Oceania.
In 1985, Miss Asia Quest exprienced its first milestone and transformed into the "Miss Asia Pacific Quest" when close to 40 countries participated in the pageant, including the USA, Canada, and other countries from Central and South America.[1] During the 80s-90s, Miss Asia Pacific was considered to be the 3rd most prestigious pageant in the world next to Miss Universe. [2][3]
This pageant was again renamed "Miss Asia Pacific International" in 2005 to reach out to countries around the world. However, the 2005 event is also the last event of "Miss Asia Pacific International" pageant to date.
