Misery Is a Butterfly is the sixth studio album by Blonde Redhead, released in 2004.

The song "Elephant Woman" was featured over the end credits of the 2005 film Hard Candy. The song "Misery Is a Butterfly " was featured over the end of the 2008 film Tout est parfait. Additionally, the song features a drum sample from Timmy Thomas' "Why Can't We Live Together". The song "Messenger" was also featured in the Me and You and Everyone We Know trailer, a film by Miranda July.

The poster for the German Misery Is A Butterfly tour was designed by Stefan Guzy.[7]

The songs Melody and Misery Is a Butterfly were covered by Matt Haimovitz and Christopher O'Riley on their 2011 release Shuffle.Play.Listen.
