The Minister for Children and Youth Affairs (Irish: An tAire Leanaí agus Gnóthaí Óige) is a senior minister at the Department of Children and Youth Affairs in the Government of Ireland.

The current Minister for Children and Youth Affairs is James Reilly, TD.[1]

Overview

The department was created in 1956 as the Department of the Gaeltacht. Its title has changed several times, the current title was created in 2011.[2] An office of Minister of State for Children existed from 1994 to 2011.

The department is responsible for children and youth affairs.
