His debut album "Change Again" was self-released in November 2008 and includes the song "In Case I Go Again" which was selected as the winner of The Unsigned Artist radio contest held by WRMF / 97.9 FM South Florida.[1] The single was featured on CBS Ghost Whisperer.[2] In July 2010, the music video for "In Case I Go Again" was featured on the homepage of YouTube as part of their "Music Tuesday" spotlight receiving 500,000 views. Mikey has been known to play the piano and guitar simultaneously. Wax also got his start performing in his fans living rooms across the country. He has played over 200 house concerts.
In 2011, Mikey recorded a full-length album with producer Warren Huart (The Fray, James Blunt). The album titled "Constant Motion" released independently in September 2011, ranking at #6 on the iTunes singer/songwriter chart, and #47 on Billboard Heatseekers chart. The single "Counting on You" received radio airplay on major adult top 40 (Hot-AC) stations, and debuted on the Mediabase adult top 40 radio chart on April 9, 2012. Mikey was selected by New Music Seminar as an "Artist on the Verge" and also featured by iHeartRadio as an "Artist To Watch". In the summer of 2012, "Counting on You" was used as the elimination montage song on all episodes of FOX's So You Think You Can Dance. Mikey's original holiday song "And A Happy New Year" receives radio airplay annually on SiriusXM Holly, and was featured on ABC Family's Switched At Birth in December, 2014.[5] Shockya.com says Wax "makes holiday music "the cool thing to listen to"."[6] "And A Happy New Year" is also featured in the WWE Studios film "Santa's Little Helper", while his songs "Perfect Holiday" & "Catch The Midnight Flight" are featured in the film "A Dogwalker's Christmas Tale", which aired on Up (TV network).
