Playing career
Kavanagh played his junior hockey for the New York Applecore of the Eastern Junior Hockey League (EJHL), where he was a league all star. He then moved to SUNY-Plattsburgh where he played from 2008 to 2010.[1] In 2011, Kavanagh transferred to Curry College and played there for two seasons.[2]
After college, Kavanagh signed with the Fayetteville FireAntz of the SPHL. He was called up by the Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL) and was soon traded to the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL.
