Miguel Gerónimo Esparza (1679 - 1760s) was served in the military and official, during the Viceroyalty of Peru
Personal life
Miguel Geronimo de Esparza, born April 23, 1679 in Buenos Aires, was the son of Alejo de Esparza (Basque merchant),[1] and Escolástica Rodríguez (daughter of Captain Alfonso Rodríguez). He married Antonia Cabral de Melo Morales, great-granddaughter of the Portuguese Amador Báez de Alpoim and his wife Margarita Cabral de Melo (descendant of Nuno Velho Cabral.[2] His son Juan Miguel de Esparza, was also an important Government Functionary.[3]
Career
In 1719, Esparza was a defender of minors and the homeless.[4] In 1724 had served as a lawyer or adviser.[5] After was appointed perpetual regidor of Buenos Aires, a position he held until 1766.[6] In 1744, Esparza was in charge of the census of City.[7] In 1745, he was elected judge, and years later was appointed alcalde of the city of Buenos Aires.[8]
In 1747 Miguel Gerónimo Esparza was captain in The Presidio of Buenos Aires.[9]
