Mickaël Meira (born 25 January 1994) is a Portuguese footballer who plays as a goalkeeper.
Early life
Meira was born in Ajaccio, France to a Portuguese father and emigrated to Portugal in 2003, at 9 years old. He started in football with GFCO Ajaccio, then moved to GRAP, Benfica and Fátima, to finalize his youth career at Sporting CP.
Football career
On 16 December 2013, Meira made his professional debut with Sporting B in a 2013–14 Segunda Liga match against Sporting Braga B, when he started and played the full game.[1] On 31 August 2014, Meira moved on a permanent deal to AEL Limassol in Cyprus. In his farewell message he showed resentment towards Sporting for treatment he received.[2]
International career
Meira has capped one time for Portugal U-18.
