Michel van Rijt

Michel van Rijt (born June 25, 1970 in Helmond, Netherlands) is a martial artist.

Career

Van Rijt started with judo when he was 10 years old. At 15 he was member of the national judo team under 18 and later under 21. When he was 16 he started with Pencak Silat, later with Wado Ryu Karate and Shotokan Karate at age of 17. When he was 19 he took up Ju-Jitsu.

Michel van Rijt as coach / trainer

In 1999 Michel van Rijt started his own school/club named budosport Van Rijt and changed that name later to Sportcentrum Van Rijt. He is co-author, with Eric Garnier, of the book Ju-Jitsu: Forbidden Techniques.
