Michel Charles Eugène Marie Lamoral, Prince de Ligne, Prince d'Épinoy, Prince d'Amblise, and Grandee of Spain, was born on 26 May 1951 in Château de Belœil, Belgium.[1] He is the son of Antoine, 13th Prince de Ligne and Princess Alix of Luxembourg.[2] He is thus the nephew of Jean, Grand Duke of Luxembourg and a cousin of Grand Duke Henri.[2] As head of the House of Ligne he bears the (traditionally untranslated]] title, Prince de Ligne,[2] and is a knight of the Order of the Golden Fleece in Austria.
Marriage and children
He married Princess Eleanora of Orléans-Braganza, daughter of Prince Pedro Henrique of Orléans-Braganza and Princess Maria Elisabeth of Bavaria, on 10 March 1981 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.[1]
