Michael Sheringham

Michael Hugh Tempest Sheringham FBA (1948 21 January 2016) was Marshal Foch Professor of French Literature at the University of Oxford from 2004 until his retirement in 2015.[1] He was also a Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford. Sheringham previously taught at the University of Kent (where he was Professor of French Literature from 1992 to 1995) and at Royal Holloway, University of London (where he was Professor of French from 1995 to 2004).[2] He was appointed a Fellow of the British Academy in 2010.[3]

He died on 21 January 2016.[4]
