Michael McKeon

Michael McKeon is a Partner of Mercury Public Affairs. In 2007, McKeon served as Senior Communications Advisor to former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani's presidential campaign.

Prior to joining Mercury, Mr. McKeon served as New York governor George Pataki's Director of Communications, and as the Governor's chief spokesman.[1] He was responsible for overseeing the State's crisis communications, during and after the September 11th, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center.

As the Governor's chief liaison on September 11 issues to New York City Hall and family groups, McKeon worked closely with Mayor Michael Bloomberg and his staff, along with White House senior staff, on the development and production of the ceremonies marking the first anniversary of the September 11th attacks.

Prior to joining the Pataki administration in May 1995, McKeon worked for more than 10 years as a reporter for three New York newspapers, winning several awards for local and political reporting.

Born in 1963, McKeon is a 1985 graduate of Utica College.

McKeon served on the Selection Jury for the World Trade Center Memorial.
