"Metal Mickey" is the second single from the debut album by Suede, released on 14 September 1992 on Nude Records. It charted at number 17 on the UK singles chart, a considerable improvement on their previous single, "The Drowners", which failed to crack the top 40.[1]
Performed by the group on their appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, it became the only Suede single to crack the US Modern Rock top 10, peaking at number 7 in 1993.[2]
"Metal Mickey" is the only Suede single not to feature the title in the songs lyrics.
