Memorial Medical Center is an acute care hospital in Springfield, Illinois, that offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services. It includes the Memorial Heart and Vascular Institute, the Center for Neuromuscular Sciences, the Stroke Center, Emergency Services, Family Maternity Suites, Regional Cancer Center, Regional Burn Center, Urology Institute and Orthopaedic Institute. Memorial's ExpressCare facilities at Koke Mill Medical Center, North Dirksen, and South 6th Street serve the community's urgent care needs.

Memorial Medical Center is an affiliate of Memorial Health System. It was founded in 1897 as the Springfield Hospital and Training School.[3] Today, it is one of two major hospitals in Springfield, alongside St. John's Hospital, a Catholic hospital operated by the Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS), a Roman Catholic healthcare mission founded to continue the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.
