Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarchal Exarchate of Istanbul is a immediate Exarchate of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church in Istanbul. It reports directly to the Melkite Patriarch of Antioch.
Territory and statistics
The Patriarchal Exarchate covers all territory of Turkey and its seat is in Istambul. In 2013 there were only one parish and 20 Melkite Catholics.
History
Melkite Catholic Patriarchal Exarchate of Istambul was founded on June 11, 1911. From 1946 to September 1955, Archimandrite Maximos Mardelli was its Patriarchal Exarch. Since November 25, 1996 is Louis Pelâtre, AA,[1] the Patriarchal administrator.
