Melita is a diversified and advanced quadruple-play cable operator offering converged telecommunications services. Services are delivered to consumers and businesses across Malta via its nationwide converged mobile 3G (UMTS), HFC cable and advanced seamless Wi-Fi mesh networks to households and businesses in Malta. Likewise, the billing and customer relationships are managed through one converged system.

The company offers IP based digital cable TV, broadband Internet, fixed-line telephony, and mobile voice and data services. It also owns and operates an undersea submarine optical fiber cable; a co-location data centre built to Tier 3 specifications as well as a next-generation Wi-Fi service across the Maltese islands.

Through its brand mSafePay the company also offers Mobile Point of Sale Terminals (mPOS) to small businesses and sole traders.

Melita’s successful development since its launch in 1992 is evidenced by the presence of at least one of its services in 75% of all households in Malta.

The principal companies forming the Melita group include Melita Capital PLC as the holding company of the Group and Melita PLC as the operating company for all lines of businesses.[1]

The Melita Group’s has at least one of its services in 70 percent of all households in Malta and Gozo. As a quad-play communications provider (offering television, broadband, mobile and fixed telephony services), the company continues to grow and maintain its position as a leader in the growth and development of the telecommunications and media sectors in Malta.

Andrei Marc Torriani – Chief Executive Officer

Andrei Torriani joined Melita in 2009 and since led the company through a transition from being a pay-TV centric business into a diversified market leading provider of converged fixed and mobile telecommunications services. Prior to Melita, Andrei was Telefónica O2 Czech Republic’s Vice President in charge of all consumer focused business, covering a portfolio of mobile and wireline voice, broadband and IPTV services to over 7 million customers. During his career he has additionally served in senior executive commercial, technology and board roles in telecom operators worldwide. Andrei holds an MBA in International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird), and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and International Trade from Dickinson College in Pennsylvania, USA.

Danny Rosso – Chief Financial Officer

Danny Rosso joined Melita in 2013 having also served Melita as CFO (1992 -1994) and Managing Director (2000-2003) in the past. In addition to multiple non-executive board member roles throughout his career, Danny’s experience also includes roles as CFO of the Gasan Group, and as Group Chief Accountant of the Bank of Valletta (BOV), one of Malta’s leading financial institutions. Danny is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and a qualified accountant.

Ludolf Rasterhoff – Chief Operations Officer

Ludolf Rasterhoff joined Melita in 2010 and has led the transformation of Melita’s commercial and service operations with the successful execution of its fixed and mobile convergence strategy. Prior to Melita, Ludolf was CCO of the UTS Group, one of the Caribbean’ s leading telecommunications providers, and additionally served KPN in several leading organizational roles in the Netherlands as Director of Television and Media Business Unit, as Director of KPN Mobile’s Consumer Market, and senior roles in Corporate Strategy and Merger & Acquisitions. Ludolf holds a Business Degree from the University of Rotterdam.

Simon Montanaro – Chief Technology Officer

Simon Montanaro joined Melita at its inception in 1991 and was promoted to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in 2009. In his role, Simon leads the day-to-day management of Melita’s physical network, technical support and ICT platforms, as well as leading the strategic development and deployment of Melita’s fast evolving technology capabilities and service portfolio. Simon holds a Dipoma in Management from Henley Management College and is a Member of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE).
