Melanorivulus is a disputed genus of rivulines native to South America. It was first elevated to genus status in 2011 by W. J. E. M. Costa;[1] however, subsequent work in 2012 by J.H. Huber suggests that this grouping is merely a subgenus of Rivulus.[2]
