Mark Brooks is an American producer, director, writer and musician.
Career
- Brooks co-founded and played guitar for the influential punk band Warlock Pinchers.[1]
- Brooks wrote and directed the feature film Lil Pimp starring William Shatner, Bernie Mac, Ludacris, and Lil' Kim for Sony/Lion's Gate.
- He also directed The Slim Shady Show starring Eminem.
- Brooks wrote the music, directed, and animated the Fruity Oaty Bar sequence from the film Serenity.
- His music has been featured in such films and television shows as The Fan, Mad Money, Blonde Ambition, "Las Vegas", and The Riches. Brooks has recorded music under the alias "MegaJive".
- Brooks served as the animation supervisor for Baton directed by Ryuhei Kitamura.[2]
- Brooks directed the "Black Panther" animated series for Marvel Comics/BET.
- Brooks wrote and directed Playing with Dolls, a 20-minute short film included on the new Slayer CD/DVD "World Painted Blood".[3]
- Brooks directed the video clip for the title track of the Slayer album World Painted Blood.[4]
- Brooks directed the video clip for the Melvins song Electric Flower from the album "The Bride Screamed Murder".[5]
- Brooks directed the video clip for the Melvins song The War on Wisdom from the ep "The Bulls and the Bees".[6]
- Brooks directed the video clip for the Black Breath song "Home of the Grave" from the album Sentenced to Life.[7]
- In 2011, Brooks formed the synth pop band Night Club with Emily Kavanaugh.[8]
- Brooks was a writer and director of Metalocalypse, an animated show on Adult Swim about Dethklok.
- In 2013, Brooks directed Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem.
- In 2015, Brooks produced and directed "Danzig Legacy". A live concert film shot in the style of the '68 Comeback Special, featuring Glenn Danzig performing the songs of Danzig, Samhain and the Misfits.[9]
- Brooks directs Moonbeam City, an animated show on Comedy Central featuring Rob Lowe.
