The Faculty of Science is one of the constituent faculties of McGill University. It is the university's second largest faculty with 16% of McGill students enrolled in one of its various departments.

The Faculty was not established until after 1843 following the founding of the Arts, Medicine and "Commercial Studies" faculties.

Medicine Preparatory Program

Students enrolled in McGill University's Medicine Preparatory Program are not part of the Faculty of Medicine; rather, they are in the Faculty of Science for the duration of their "Med-P" year. Upon successful completion of the medical preparatory program, students are transferred to the Faculty of Medicine as "Med-1" students. This transfer between faculties solely occurs at McGill; that is, medical students at Université de Montréal are part of the Faculté de médecine de l'Université de Montréal from their preparatory year to their final year of medical school.
