Mayer A. DeRoy (1930-Sep 23, 1995) was a longtime Pittsburgh Police leader, who served as Pittsburgh Police Chief from May 17, 1990 -June 15, 1992. He was a 33-year Pittsburgh veteran when he took the oath of Chief. A long time Assistant Chief he was demoted in 1984 after he was implicated in a federal investigation. He later served as Chief of suburban Homestead. He died on September 23, 1995 in Las Vegas, Nevada while on vacation.[1]
