Mason County Historical Society
Mason County Historical Society, located in Ludington, Michigan, is a private, non-profit, educational organization. It is a museum dedicated to preserving the local history of Mason County, Michigan.[1]
Nineteenth century history is shown with White Pine Village, and the Mariners Old Time Baseball Team, also known as the Ludington Mariners, a professional Class D minor league baseball team of the early 1900s. There is also a Michigan Research Library and a Genealogy Library located on site.
Mission and purpose
- To foster a deeper understanding of and appreciation for Mason County history.
- To collect, preserve, and present for viewing historically important artifacts, archives, and buildings of the inhabitants of Mason County.
- To stimulate and encourage the interpretation of Mason County's past through publications, educational programs, and related historical activities.
- To cooperate with appropriate individuals, organizations, and institutions of the local and state levels in projects and activities which promote and sustain a general interest in history and preservation.
