Martinović (Serbian Cyrillic: Mартиновић, meaning: Son of Martin) is a common surname in Serbia and Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.It is also a surname of an montenigerin aristocratic dynasty, the Martinović.It was named after Martin Orlović (the founder of the dynasty).There are references of this family in:-1. Martinovics

Martinović: also a well known montenegren aristorcratic family during the former days of the royal state. To this day they still carry the burden of burning the oak tree in cettinje as a national orthodox Christmas ceremony (see julian calendar). They also have distant past relatives in the montenegren royal family and worked with them closely.
