MarketResearch.com, Inc. was created in 1998 by Rob Granader[3] through the acquisition of the Published Products division of FIND/SVP (then part of the worldwide SVP network), and FINDEX, a Worldwide Directory of Market Research Reports, Studies, and Surveys.

In 2000, MarketResearch.com, Inc. acquired Newsletters.com, a Rockville-based aggregator of business information.

In July 2005, MarketResearch.com acquired its chief online competitor, MindBranch, Inc.

In May 2007, MarketResearch.com acquired Profound, from Thomson Corporation's Legal Division.[4]

In June 2007, MarketResearch.com purchased Simba Information, a market intelligence provider for the information, media, and publishing industries.

In 2007, MarketResearch.com made the EContent 100 List as one of the top 100 digital content companies.[5]

In March 2008, MarketResearch.com made the SmartCEO Future 50 list as one of the 50 fastest growing companies in the greater Washington, DC area.[6]

From 2007 through 2010, MarketResearch.com made the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing private companies in the US.[7]

In October 2011, the publishing division launched Knowledge Centers, a subscription service to an individual publisher or set of reports.[8]

In July 2013, MarketResearch.com acquired Education Market Research to bolster its content in the Education space.[9]

In November 2014, MarketResearch.com launched Profound for individuals, which provides market research to start-ups and small businesses.

In February 2016, MarketResearch.com acquired The Freedonia Group, an international industry market research firm headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio.[10]
