Margarita Ortigas (generally known as Marga Ortigas) is a Filipino broadcast journalist, currently working for Al Jazeera English.
Career
Early work
Previously, Ortigas was a field producer, editor, and reporter with CNN International news. Before that, she was anchor, reporter and producer at ABS-CBN, and also at GMA Network, in the Philippines.[1][2][3]
Al Jazeera English
Ortigas is a correspondent with Al Jazeera English, and is now based in China.[4] [5] In November 2013, she returned to her native Philippines to cover the massive devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan (local name: Yolanda) in eastern and central parts of the Visayas.
She recently received a special prize from the International Committee of the Red Cross for Humanitarian Reporting.[6]
