Manuel Gregorio Pelegrina "(El Payo)" (1920 - November 23, 1992) is a former Argentine footballer striker. He is the highest scoring player in the history of Estudiantes de La Plata and represented the Argentina national football team.

Pelegrina started his career with Estudiantes in 1938, he played for the club until their relegation in 1952 when he left with Ricardo Infante to join Club Atlético Huracán. Pellegrina only played one season with Huracán before returning to Estudiantes.

During his time at Estudiantes Pelegrina made a number of appearances for Argentina, including games at the South American Championship 1945[1]

Pelegrina eventually left Estudiantes in 1956 after scoring 234 goals in 489 games for the club. He scored 221 goals in 261 games for Estudiantes in the Primera División Argentina. He then played for Defensores Cambaceres in the lower leagues of Argentine football between 1957 and 1961.[2]

Pelegrina is in 4th place on the list of Primera División Argentina topscorers with a combined total of 231 goals in 490 games. He scored 245 goals in 518 games in all competitions.

Pelegrina died of pneumonia on November 23, 1992.
