Mandor tehsil is a tehsil in Jodhpur District of Rajasthan state in western India.[2]

Mandor tehsil is a central tehsil among the eleven tehsils in Jodhpur District. It borders Osian tehsil and Bawadi tehsil to the north, Bhopalgarh tehsil to the northeast, Luni tehsil to the south, and Balesar tehsil to the west.[3]

History

In 2009 Mandor tehsil was created out of the rural portion of Jodhpur tehsil. Jodhpur tehsil is an island in Mandor tehsil.

Demographics

In the 2001 Indian census, the rural population of Jodhpur tehsil which became Mandor tehsil recorded 208,836 inhabitants of which 109,560 (52.5%) were male and 99,276 (47.5%) were female, for a gender ratio of 906 females per thousand males.[4] In 2001 in the area that became Mandor tehsil, 100% of the households were rural.[4]
