Manasvi Mamgai (born 10 October 1989)[1] is an Indian actress and Supermodel who was crowned Femina Miss India 2010, Miss Tourism International 2008 and Elite Model Look India in 2006. She represented India at the Miss World 2010 but was unplaced. She made her Bollywood debut in Action Jackson directed by Prabhu Deva opposite Ajay Devgn. She is now a contestant in Bigg Boss 9.

Early life

Manasvi Mamgai was born in Delhi, but points out that her parents grew up in Uttarakhand. [2][3] She did her schooling in Chandigarh. While at school she excelled in dancing and skating. By the age of 14 she won multiple state awards in dancing, including "Best Dancer" awards from the Shinchang Institute of Performing Arts and the Chandigarh Art Theatre, and multiple medals in skating. She was also active at the school magazine.[3]

Modeling career

Mamgai signed up with Elite Model Management India.[4] In the same year she won the Elite Model Look India[5] and also debuted at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, where she was chosen as one of 16 "New Faces Going Places". Since then she has walked the ramp for many top Indian designers,[6] shot campaigns for Fair and Lovely, Tarun Tahiliani, Manish Malhotra and many other, and shot fashion features for top Indian and international magazines.[7]

Beauty pageant career

Mamgai won the Miss Tourism International held in Malaysia on 31 December 2008.[8][9] On April 30, 2010 she was crowned Femina Miss India, winning five subtitles including Miss Golden Heart and Miss Catwalk in the pageant.[10] She represented India at the Miss World 2010.
