Maluka

Maluka was a small state southeast of Bandjermassin in southeast Borneo from 1812-1816.[1] Alexander Hare, sent to the area by Stamford Raffles when the British took over from the Dutch, was granted the land by the sultan and ran it as a private fiefdom, so he could be called the first White Rajah of Borneo, 30 years before the White Rajahs of Sarawak. His importation of convicts as slave labour, especially female, became infamous and was dubbed the Bandjemassing Enormity.
