Majestic Vanguard is a Swedish Christian progressive power metal band. The band was founded in Falköping 2003 by the members: Daniel Eskilsson, Samuel Fredén and Andreas Andersson.

History

Current MV lineup 2013

An early version of the group first formed when drummer Daniel Eskilsson met bassist Andreas Andersson and his brother, keyboardist Samuel Andersson in 1993. The band was able to perform several shows and record two demo tapes before splitting up in the Autumn of 1995. In the spring of 2003 they decided to reform under the name "Divine Disciples" and added vocalist Peter Sigfridsson, who surprisingly had no previous experience singing metal, but the band felt his voice was a perfect fit for their melodic style. After recording a demo in 2004, the group was signed by Rivel Records, owned by Christian Rivel of Narnia and Divinefire fame. They then proceeded to add guitarist Johan Abelson and changed the band's name to "Majestic Vanguard". Then in 2005 they recorded and released their critically acclaimed debut album Beyond The Moon. Following the album's release they have gone on to become one of the more prominent bands in the Christian power metal scene.
