Maigret is an upcoming British television series from the ITV. It will be an adaptation of the books by Georges Simenon featuring his fictional French detective Jules Maigret played by Rowan Atkinson.[1]

Production

The episodes are being filmed on location in Budapest, Hungary, which will be standing in for 1950s Paris. Rowan Atkinson who plays Jules Maigret is a big fan of the books, he said “I have been a devourer of the Maigret novels for many years and I’m very much looking forward to playing such an intriguing character, at work in Paris during a fascinating period in its history.” Director of Television for the ITV network Peter Fincham declared he was “delighted” by the “prestigious commission”.[2]
