Maguy Bou Ghosn (born September 18, 1979) is a Lebanese actress who managed to grow a huge fan base around the Arab World throughout the years. She is considered one of the best and most powerful Lebanese actresses. She debuted her acting career in Syria and the Persian Gulf.[1] In 2008, she made her breakthrough in Lebanon with the drama TV series "Asr El Harim" and her first leading role in "Metel El Kezeb" in 2011, both being aired on LBC, with the latter being highly praised by critics and fans.[2] Bou Ghosn’s career continued achieving success in Lebanon throughout the last early years. Bou Ghosn is well known for her sense of humor. She is a Murex d’Or winner.[3]

Acting career

Bou Ghosn’s acting career debuted when she started portraying in many successful TV series through the Arab World including Syria and the Persian Gulf.[4] Since her debut, the critical response to her acting career was very positive. Early 2008, Bou Ghosn portrayed her first roles in Lebanon, she portrayed Amira in "Asr El Harim", Jana in "Maitre Nada", Vera in "Dr. Hala" and Jihane in "Metel El Kezeb" in 2011. In 2011, Bou Ghosn made it to the top with the well-received Ramadan comedy TV Series "Akher Khabar", critics and fans praised her impressive portrayal of Sawsan, calling it a very new of kind.[5] Later that year, Bou Ghosn starred in the Comedy-Drama TV series "Auberge", which aired on MTV from 2011 till 2012.[6] In Ramadan 2012, Bou Ghosn is starred in a very new kind of TV series, "Duo Al Gharam".[7] This fall 2013, Bou Ghosn starred in her first movie "BeBe" which made it to be the number 1 movie in Lebanon with over 152,000 admission tickets within 14 weeks.[8] Bou Ghosn is currently working on a new movie. In November 2014 Maguy starres in her second film "Vitamin".

Bou Ghosn’s childhood dream was always to become a successful singer; however, she ended up entering the acting industry. In late 2011, Bou Ghosn participated in the second season of Celebrity Duets in which she and Lebanese actor Carlos Azar battled in the finale prime for the grand prize.[9] Bou Ghosn won and donated her prize to St. Jude Children Cancer Center.[10] In 2012, on June 15, Bou Ghosn premiered her first charity single "Saken El Sama Byesmaa", composed by Oussama Al Rahbani and written by Ghadi Al Rahbani, during the launching of the CD.[11] On June 16, Bou Ghosn released her second single "Ma Ba2a Baddi Hebbak" which has been featured in her 2012 Ramadan TV series "Duo Al Gharam" along two other songs which she has recorded with actor Carlos Azar.[12] In February 2014, Bou Ghosn participated in the huge concert One Lebanon by Tania Kassis.
