Maggie Szabo is a Canadian soul and pop singer and songwriter who became known for her YouTube and Vevo appearances, reaching over 13 million views worldwide.
Early life and education
Maggie was born and grew up in Dundas, Ontario. After high school, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue her music career.[1] While working on her music, she became a YouTube star, attracting attention by doing covers of current pop hits, including a collaboration with a local band and YouTube sensation, Walk Off The Earth, with their cover of “Party Rock Anthem” reaching over 9 million views.[2] After releasing her debut album, Maggie's music videos started garnering attention with her original songs attracting millions of views on YouTube.
Career
In November 2012, she released her debut pop album “Now Hear Me Out”. All original songs on her album were co-written by Maggie with production by Justin Gray, Gavin Bradley and Tanya Leah. After releasing her first single named “Lovesick”, Maggie was named as Bell Media’s Emerging Artist and was personally chosen by the blogger Perez Hilton as his “Can YOU Sing?” contest winner beating out thousands of competitor singers.
After achieving success with her first album, Maggie moved to Los Angeles to pursue her career.[3] Since spending time in Los Angeles, Maggie has gained exposure by playing the original new music to sold-out crowds at the infamous Viper Room, House of Blues, and famed venue the Hotel Café.
Maggie wrote and recorded her new song ‘Tidal Waves and Hurricanes’, and the accompanying music video to her new single, which was premiered exclusively by Ryan Seacrest and has since gained attention by media and the fans.[4]
Maggie has received notable recognition as a songwriter and artist after winning the International Songwriting Competition in the pop division for her song 'Tidal Waves and Hurricanes'.

Awards and nominations
In 2014, Maggie was nominated "Best Pop" for the Toronto Independent Music Awards.[5] She was also voted as the Top 5 most voted for US artists by the BalconyTV.[6]
Maggie also won the International Songwriting Competition for her song 'Tidal Waves and Hurricanes'.
