MRI Software, LLC is a provider of real estate and investment management software to real estate owners, investors, and operators. The company was founded in 1971 under the name Management Reports Incorporated and was later known as Management Resources International and, once acquired by Intuit in 2002, Intuit Real Estate Solutions (IRES). In 2009, the private equity firm based in San Francisco, Vista Equity Partners, acquired IRES and renamed the company MRI Software.[1] In 2015, MRI Software was acquired by GI Partners.[2] MRI’s software has been installed over 4,500 times in five continents and in 41 countries.[3]

MRI Software is headquartered in Solon, Ohio[4] with additional offices in North Sydney, Australia; London, UK; Hong Kong; and Singapore.[5][6]

Products

MRI Software offers property management and accounting suites for multifamily, commercial, retail, office, and corporate applications. MRI provides software solutions[7] in the areas of investment analysis, budgeting and forecasting, portfolio modeling and analysis, fund and lease accounting, commercial management, and operations and financials, as well as accounts payable, facility management, general ledger, job cost, ad hoc reporting, affordable housing, application tool kit, Division of Housing Community Renewal Compliance, asset management, enterprise ledger, purchase order, report design, resident portal, and Web design solutions.[5]

MRI Software partnered with Cougar Software in June 2014 [8] to integrate its portfolio management solution with MRI's software solution. Both companies are working to integrate their software and provide MRI clients with the complex data analysis they require.[9]

Mergers and Acquisitions

During 2011, MRI Software acquired building operations company Workspeed,[14] the affordable-housing company Bostonpost,[15] and the apartment marketing and leasing company VaultWare (formerly Realty Data Trust).[16]

In 2015, MRI Software acquired Cougar Software of Toronto.[17]
