MONTECRISTO Magazine is a regional lifestyle magazine in Vancouver, BC, Canada. MONTECRISTO was launched in December 2008 by Canadian entrepreneur Pasquale Cusano, who is also the founder and publisher of NUVO (magazine).

Editorial Content

MONTECRISTO is Vancouver's internationally inspired lifestyle quarterly. Stories cover a broad range of interests including food and wine, culture, travel, technology and automobiles, business, design, architecture, beauty, fashion[2] and the arts,[3] with a particular emphasis on the artisanal approach to life.[4] The current issue, Winter 2015, features actor David Duchovny. Past issues have included stories on filmmaker Deepa Mehta, singer-songwriter Buffy Sainte-Marie, model Sang with Charles Stuart International; artists Os Gêmeos; director Oliver Stone; actress Kristin Lehman; sculptor David Marshall; tennis star Filip Peliwo; singer/songwriter Sarah McLachlan; author, artist and public figure Douglas Coupland; Kentucky Derby–winning thoroughbred horse racing jockey Mario Gutierrez; Coast Salish artist Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun; designer Jason Wu; explorer Mike Horn; the Beaty Biodiversity Museum at the University of British Columbia; cyclist Ryder Hesjedal;[5] visual artist Steven Shearer; freestyle swimmer Brent Hayden; Daniel Lalonde, and Chan Hon Goh former principal dancer at the National Ballet of Canada and now director of Goh Ballet Academy, among others.

Circulation and Distribution

MONTECRISTO Magazine distributes 30,000 copies per quarter to the metro Vancouver area.[6] MONTECRISTO is printed by Metropolitan Fine Printer located in Vancouver, British Columbia using 100% post-consumer paper.[7]

Awards

MONTECRISTO Magazine received the 2014 Award for Best Online Magazine, MONTECRISTOmagazine.com,[9] from the Western Magazine Awards Foundation. MONTECRISTOmagazine.com was also nominated for the Eddie Digital Award at the 2015 and 2014 Folio Awards. MONTECRISTO Magazine was also recognized with a silver medal at the 2010 Environmental Printing Awards for the most environmentally progressive print project in Canada and nominated for a National Magazine Award [10] for best Still-Life Photography for “Homestretch” [11] from the Summer 2011 issue.
