History
MBO Partners was founded in 1996 as My Biz Office. The company rebranded as MBO Partners in 2006. Today, the company is a privately held Virginia corporation and is still led by CEO and founder Gene Zaino.
Mission & Vision
MBO Partners was founded with the goal of making it easier for self-employed professionals and their clients to work together, and a vision of seeing the majority of the workforce become self-employed.[3]
Services
MBO provides self-employed professionals and enterprises software tools and proprietary services that enable them to work together compliantly. Currently, MBO’s Enterprise clients include many of the Fortune 500 companies that engage independent talent. MBO Partners’ primary customer is the Independent Service Professional.
Published Works and Studies
MBO Partners issues an annual research report, the State of Independence in America,[4] which examines the state of the independent workforce in America and provides a national baseline to help track trends and changes in the independent workforce over time.
2015 marked the fifth year of the study, which found that 30.2 million Americans pursue Full- or Part-Time independent work. More and more professionals are migrating to work independently; they are more satisfied with their lifestyle choice and they are actively seeking to remain independent.
