M. M. Hassan is a leader of the Indian National Congress and a former Minister in the Government of Kerala.[1]
Biography
Hassan was born on 14 May 1947 in Thiruvananthapuram. He was introduced to active politics through the Kerala Students Union (KSU) and became the state president of KSU. He was then elected as the senate member and Chairman of the Kerala University Union. He was elected from the Kazhakootam constituency to the Kerala Legislative Assembly in the 1980 and 1982 elections, and re-elected from Trivandrum West in the 1987 and 1991 general elections. In 2001, he represented the Kayamkulam constituency in the Kerala Legislative Assembly and served as the Minister for Information and Parliamentary Affairs in the Ministry headed by A. K. Antony from 2001–2004.[1] He also held the additional portfolio of Minister for Non-Resident Keralites' Affairs in the Kerala Legislative Assembly.
Hassan is currently serving as vice president of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC).He is LLB degree holder. [2]
