The Adventures of Luntik and his friends (Приключения Лунтика и его друзей) (or Moonzy) or simply Luntik (Лунтик) a Russian educational animated series for preschoolers.
The show stars a small furry alien creature named Luntik, who hatched on the moon and fell to Earth. The action takes place in a forest glade near the pond. Most of the characters are mainly small anthropomorphic animals: insects, fish, frogs, etc., playing roles of adults and children. The main characters learn about the world as well as relationships in society. In fact, the series shows a child's view of the world. There are no entirely negative characters; the two mischievous caterpillars and often a hysterical leech have a multifaceted nature in which there are positive traits. The series runs in a format of 6-minute episodes, each unfolding in a separate, complete story. In fact, as each episode's story is complete, viewers can watch the episodes in any order.
The show premiered on the TV channel Russia-1 and was broadcast for 8 years from 1 September 2006 until 15 May 2014. Later it moved to the animated series branch channel "Russian Culture" since 16 June 2014. It is also broadcast on Carousel as of 24 March 2008, on Mul't as of 1 June 2014, and on TET in Ukraine as of February 2011.
