Luca de Meo

Luca de Meo (Milan, June 13, 1967) is an Italian business executive and has been Member of the Board of Management for Sales and Marketing at AUDI AG since September 1, 2012.

He graduated in 1986 at the Liceo scientifico "G. Galilei" in Pescara, and now holds the post of Honorary President of the former students' Abruzzo Galilei ". He also graduated in Business Administration at the 'Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi di Milano, and followed courses in Marketing Management at the 'INSEAD in Fontainebleau in France.

From 1992 he held various positions at the French carmaker Renault and became a product manager. In 1998 he moved to Toyota Motor Europe with responsibility for Lexus, the premium brand of the Japanese group.

In 2002 he joined Fiat Auto SpA in the Lancia marketing department and became that brands Head of Marketing in June 2004. In November of that year he assumed responsibility for the Fiat brand as head of Brand & Commercial. With the subsequent change of name of the group at the beginning of 2007 and the creation of four separate companies (SpA Abarth, Alfa Romeo SpA, Fiat SpA and Lancia SpA, one per brand), he assumed the post of managing director of Abarth SpA

Since the end of September 2007 he was also Chief Marketing Officer of Fiat Group Automobiles SpA, entering the Group Executive Council, the body that guides Fiat Group. He became the head of global marketing for all five brands of the automotive group (Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Lancia and Maserati) in addition to non-automotive sectors: Case New Holland, Irisbus and Iveco. In December 2007 he also became the managing director of Alfa Romeo SpA

On January 12, 2009, Luca De Meo left Fiat Group Automobiles SpA. He joined the Volkswagen Group on 1 August, 2009, as Head of Marketing for Volkswagen passenger cars.

On July 16, 2015, Luca de Meo received the honour of the State of Italy as "Commendatore al Merito della Repubblica Italiana".

On September 29, he was named CEO of SEAT in Spain.
