Louisiana Highway 1067 (LA 1067) was a state highway in Louisiana that served Tangipahoa Parish. It spanned 3.5 miles (5.6 km) in a southwest to northeast direction along Old Covington Highway.[1] In 2000, the route was removed from the state highway system and returned to local control.
Route description
From the southwest, LA 1067 began at an intersection with LA 3158 (Airport Road/Booker Road) and headed east on Old Covington Highway before turning north to a terminus at a T-intersection with US 190 west of Robert. Near the east end of its route, LA 1067 provided access to the Louisiana State University Agricultural Experiment Station at Hammond. LA 1067 was an undivided two-lane highway for its entire length.[1][2]
History
LA 1067 originally encompassed all of Old Covington Highway, extending west to US 51 Bus. in Hammond.[3] It was truncated to LA 3158 when that route was added to the state highway system during the 1970s. The portion of Old Covington Highway west of LA 3158 was then transferred to local control and maintenance.
In 2010, the four-way stop intersection of Old Covington Highway and LA 3158 was rebuilt as a roundabout without stop signs.
Major junctions
The entire highway was in Tangipahoa Parish.
