Louise Golbey is a British singer, songwriter and musician. Born in London, Golbey came from a long line of entertainers – a grandfather who played classical violin, a guitarist uncle, singing mother and a multi-instrumentalist father.[1] Brought up in Bournemouth, Louise moved back to her home city in 2004 to pursue her own career as a musician.
A finalist in the Indy Music Awards 2008, she was invited to play the Glastonbury Festival the following year.[2]
She has played venues including Ronnie Scotts, The London Hippodrome, The Jazz Café, and appeared as an opening act for George Benson at a Kenwood House Picnic Concert in 2011. She also appeared at the London Jazz Festival and the Maida Vale Weekender 2010.[3]
In addition she supported The Stylistics on tour[4][5] and appeared at the Isle of Wight Festival.[6]
Louise has worked with several producers and musicians, including Drew Horley(Mercury Music Prize nominee), 8Trak, Gareth Ashton, Alex Morris, Cato Hoeben, Example and Newham Generals,[7]Ed Sheeran, Jessie J, Paloma Faith, Katy B, Mikill Pane, Ryan Keen. Mr Hudson, Lianne La Havas, Omar, Anthony David, Alexander O'Neal and Mitch Winehouse in aid of The Amy Winehouse Foundation).
In 2014 one of her songs was used on the soundtrack of the film Hard Time Bus.
