Lorenzo Venuti (born 12 April 1995) is an Italian footballer who plays for Serie B club Brescia, on loan from Fiorentina.
Biography
Born in Montevarchi, Tuscany region, Venuti started his career at Tuscan club Fiorentina. On 30 July 2014 Venuti was signed by Serie B club Pescara in a temporary deal, with an option to sign him outright.[2] Venuti was awarded no. 23 shirt of the first team.[3] However, Venuti only able to play for their reserve team as an overage player. On 27 June 2015 Pescara excised the option to sign Venuti outright, but La Viola also excised the counter-option.[4]
On 16 July 2015 Venuti was signed by Lega Pro newcomer Brescia in a temporary deal, with an option to buy.[5][6] Brescia was confirmed as the replacement of Parma in 2015–16 Serie B on 4 August.[7] On 2 August Venuti made his professional debut against Cremonese, in 2015–16 Coppa Italia.[8] He was partnered with his former national team team-mate Michele Somma in the defensive line-up.
International career
Two days after his professional debut, Venuti received his first Under-21 team call-up from Luigi Di Biagio.[9] He made his debut against Hungary as the substitute of Conti.[10] On 5 November Venuti received his first Under-20 team call-up from Alberigo Evani.[11]
Venuti played twice in 2014 UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualification. Venuti and Somma were in the starting line-up in the second match, replacing defenders Berra and Romagnoli. Romagnoli returned to starting line-up in the third match, while Venuti was the substitute of Luca Iotti at the 74th minute.[12] Venuti was not selected to the Elite Round.
