Loggerhead Club & Marina
Loggerhead Club & Marina is a collection of branded marinas located throughout Florida. Headquartered in Jupiter, Florida, all facilities are open to the public and have wet and dry storage. Locations (from North to South): Daytona Beach, St. Petersburg, Vero beach, Stuart, Lake Okeechobee, Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, Riviera Beach, Lantana, South Lantana, Hollywood, Aventura and South Miami.[1]
Loggerhead Club & Marina maintains strict adherence to Florida's environmental standards by seeking to secure the Department of Environmental Protection's (DEP) Clean Marina status.[2] On October 20, 2001, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Southeast District designated the Frenchman's Marina, now Loggerhead Club & Marina - Palm Beach Gardens, as a Clean Marina, the first such designation in the state of Florida.
The Clean Marina Program was developed by a partnership that includes the DEP, Marine Industries Association, the Florida Sea Grant Program, and the United States Coast Guard. All 13 Loggerhead Club & Marina branded marinas are currently designated as Clean Marina facilities.
In 2006, Loggerhead Club & Marina made a near seven-figure contribution to the Loggerhead MarineLife Center for the construction of a new 13,000-square-foot (1,200 m2) campus in Juno Beach, Florida. The Loggerhead MarineLife Center is a marine hospital and rehabilitation center whose mission is to assist in injured sea life, especially sea turtles, and educate the public about conservation of our waterways.[3]
Loggerhead MarineLife Center is a nonprofit education and conservation facility dedicated "to promote conservation of marine life through education, research and rehabilitation, with a focus on threatened and endangered sea turtles."[4] The facility began through the dedicated efforts of interested locals, drawing the interest and support of scientific and environmental communities and volunteers.
