Fort Massac sank, Thornaby put into Harwich with severely damaged bows.[18]

Vipya  Nyasaland The sternwheel ferry capsized and sank in a storm while only on her fourth voyage on Lake Nyasa 7 nautical miles (13 km) near Florence Bay with the loss of 145 lives.[63] The Malawi Department of Antiquities's sign at the Memorial site at Fort Johnston (now Mangochi) confirms the loss of life as being 145.

Valle  Norway The coaster suffered engine failure and struck rocks whilst on a voyage from Grimstad to Haugesund.[27]
