This is a list of earthquakes in 1925. Only magnitude 6.0 or greater earthquakes will appear on the list. Lower magnitude events are also included if they caused death, injury or damage. Events which occurred in remote areas will be excluded from the list as they wouldn't have generated significant media interest. All dates are listed according to UTC time. It was a fairly busy year with several deadly events occurring. Most notably was an earthquake in China in March which left at least 5,000 dead. Other deadly events occurred in Iran, Japan, the Philippines and California. No earthquake exceeded a magnitude of 7.3; in the vast majority of years there have been at least one or two events much more powerful than that.

- A magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck the southern Indian Ocean on April 11 at a depth of 10.0 km.[22]
- A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck south of Taiwan on April 16 at a depth of 15.0 km.[23]
- A magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck south of Honshu, Japan on April 19 at a depth of 331.5 km.[24]
- A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck the Halmahera Sea, Indonesia on April 22 at a depth of 35.0 km.[25]

- A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck the northern Molucca Sea, Indonesia on June 3 at a depth of 15.0 km.[36]
- A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck off the coast of northern California on June 4 at a depth of 35.0 km.[37]
- A magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck Tolima Department, Colombia on June 7 at a depth of 15.0 km.[38]
- A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck East Sepik Province, Papua New Guinea on June 9 at a depth of 25.0 km.[39]
- A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan on June 20 at a depth of 230.0 km.[40]
- A magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck Orellana Province, Ecuador on June 23 at a depth of 170.0 km.[41]
- A magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck east of Canyon Ferry Lake, Montana on June 28 at a depth of 15.0 km.[42] Partly owing to the remoteness of the event damage costs were limited to $150,000 (1925 rate). Some homes sustained damage.[43]
- A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck Ryukyu Islands, Japan on June 28 at a depth of 35.0 km.[44]
- A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck the Andaman Islands, India on June 28 at a depth of 60.0 km.[45]
- A magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck the Santa Barbara Channel, California on June 29 at a depth of 10.0 km.[46] Thirteen deaths resulted from the event as well as damage costs of over $8 million (1925 rate).[47]

August
- A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck Isparta Province, Turkey on August 7 at an unknown depth. Three people were killed and 2,043 homes were destroyed.[53]
- A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck Michoacan, Mexico on August 7 at a depth of 75.0 km.[54] This event came within an hour of the Turkey earthquake.
- A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck the Commander Islands, Russia on August 19 at a depth of 15.0 km.[55]

October
- A magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck Managua Department, Nicaragua on October 5 at a depth of 35.0 km.[57] Heavy damage was reported in the region.[58]
- A magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck the northern Mid-Atlantic Ridge on October 13 at a depth of 10.0 km.[59]
- A magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck Yunnan Province, China on October 14 at an unknown depth. Twelve deaths and at least 101 injuries were reported. Five-hundred homes were destroyed.[60]
- A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck the Talaud Islands, Indonesia on October 18 at a depth of 220.0 km.[61]
- A magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck off the southwest coast of Sumatra, Indonesia on October 22 at a depth of 35.0 km.[62]
- A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck the eastern end of Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands on October 30 at a depth of 15.0 km.[63]
November
- A magnitude 7.3 earthquake struck west of West Papua (province), Indonesia on November 10 at a depth of 15.0 km.[64]
- A magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck north of Samar, Philippines on November 13 at a depth of 20.0 km.[65] A tsunami accompanied the event leaving at least 51 dead with at least 101 injuries resulting. Many homes were destroyed in the area.[66] [67]
- A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck far off the west coast of Mexico on November 16 at a depth of 15.0 km.[68] Damage was caused by tsunami waves.[69]
- A magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck off the coast of central Peru on November 17 at a depth of 10.0 km.[70]
- A magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck Vanuatu on November 28 at a depth of 25.0 km.[71]
