NXT TakeOver is the name given to the periodic specials produced by WWE featuring the NXT subdivision, which are streamed live on the WWE Network. All NXT TakeOver events have been scheduled to air for two hours. They are held several times a year.^[1]^[2]

The first NXT live special was uniquely entitled NXT Arrival. However, after the next live special NXT TakeOver, the "TakeOver" name would continue to be used for the subsequent NXT live specials from then on. They were initially all held at Full Sail University until NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, and from that point forward the shows have taken from various locations both nationally and internationally.
