Area code 802

Vermont, and its 802 area code, in red

North American area code 802 is the state of Vermont's sole telephone area code. It was established as one of the original area codes in October 1947.

Vermont is among the decreasing number of North American jurisdictions with only one area code, and 802 has become a source of pride in the state. "802" clothing is popular,[1] and Woodchuck Hard Cider has a flavor of hard cider named 802 after the area code.
