Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue is an American television series created by Haim Saban and the eighth season of the Power Rangers franchise, began airing on February 12, 2000 on Fox Kids. Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue comprises 40 episodes and concluded its initial airing on November 18, 2000. Lightspeed Rescue uses footage and elements from the Super Sentai series Kyuukyuu Sentai GoGoFive. Regular cast members during Lightspeed Rescue include Michael Chaturantabut, Rhett Fisher, Sean Cw Johnson, Alison MacInnis, Keith Robinson, Sasha Williams, Monica Louwerens, Ron Roggé and Jennifer L. Yen.

| A group of demons led by Queen Bansheera are accidentally released and are now trying to destroy Mariner Bay in order to release their queen. So, in order to fight them, Captain Mitchell's young daughter Dana try to recruit four individuals to join Lightspeed and become Power Rangers. These individuals were Carter Grayson, Chad Lee, Joel Rawlings, and Kelsey Winslow. They all agree to Captain Mitchell's proposal, but there are five morphers. Captain Mitchell replies Dana will become the fifth ranger. The five of them battle and destroy Ghouligan and a group of Batlings, and their journey as Rangers finally begins. | |||||

| Joel falls in love with Ms. Fairweather. Meanwhile, Captain Mitchell is giving the other Rangers a tour of the Aqua Base. They introduce the new Rail Rescue zords. After that, Joel goes to buy flowers for Ms. Fairweather while the others witness a rock that has hit Mariner Bay and find it transforming into Magmavore. In order to stop Magmavore, Carter, Chad, Kelsey, and Dana try the new Rail Rescues. Joel comes back from the flower shop and tries his Rail Rescue. The Rail Rescues release smaller zords and the Rangers try to save the people inside a burning building. However, Joel is having some trouble with the other Rangers, saying he could do it alone. | |||||

| Carter reveals he never wanted to be a firefighter until one night. However, the others don't find out why yet. The Rangers go through training, but although Carter had the fastest time, he had the lowest score. Captain Mitchell tells him he needs to use his head before he uses a blaster. However, in one mission, Captain Mitchell tells Carter to put out the fire first, but Carter blames Mitchell because of his directions, one little boy got hurt. Carter isn't sure he's cut out for being a Ranger, but Captain Mitchell disagrees and sends him off to help his friends in the battle against Quakemon. | |||||

| While out on her roller blades, Kelsey saves a dog named Dorsey from getting hit by a car. Nancy, the dog's owner is later seen on television by Kelsey and Dana just as a tornado monster is attempting to destroy the city just as the Rangers finally meet Diabolico. The Rangers call for the rescue bird and destroy the monster while the shuttle was in trouble and crashed after being damaged by him! As a result, the Rangers call for their rail rescues and try to get control of the shuttle. Kelsey gets the shuttle to land on top of Rail Rescue 4 and is successful, but Jinxer grows the monster and the Rangers must combine the zords inside the Rail Rescues into the Lightspeed Megazord for the first time. | |||||

| Dana questions her father's faith in her abilities as a Ranger when he sends her on a seemingly unimportant assignment as the other Rangers are sent to guard a fuel cell. When one of Diabolico's monsters turns up the heat in Mariner Bay, she discovers that the Rangers were guarding a decoy, and the real fuel cell's safety lies in her hands. She escapes Vypra and gets the fuel cell to the Aquabase, in just enough time to help her friends destroy the monster. | |||||

| Queen Bansheera begins a ceremony which will release all of the demons from the shadow world to Earth. She brings the Skull Cavern to Mariner Bay, where the ceremony was to take place. Four of the Rangers evacuate the Aquabase on a submarine and fire torpedoes at the commandeered Lifeforce Megazord, causing both the Megazord and the base to explode, while Carter and Ryan ram the Mobile Armor Vehicle into the Omega Megazord, destroying it. Carter then kicks Queen Bansheera into the Skull Cavern's tomb, causing the cavern to crumble. The Rangers' powers are no longer needed. | |||||
