List of Pakistan Twenty20 International cricketers

A Twenty20 International (T20I) is an international cricket match between two representative teams, each having T20I status, as determined by the International Cricket Council (ICC), and is played under the rules of Twenty20 cricket.[2] The first such match was played between Australia and New Zealand on 17 February 2005 which Australia won by 44 runs at Eden Park.[3] As of 2014, the Pakistan cricket team have played 83 matches since their first match in 2006.[4]

Pakistan played their first T20I match at the County Cricket Ground, Bristol, on 28 August 2006, against England, winning the match by five wickets.[5][6] In terms of wins, Pakistan is the most successful team with 44 wins.[7][8] In 2009, under the captaincy of Younis Khan, they won the 2009 ICC World Twenty20, defeating Sri Lanka by eight wickets.[1] Shahid Afridi is the current team captain for T20Is.[9] Mohammad Hafeez has captained the side more often—in 29 T20Is.[10]

As of 2014, Afridi has made the most appearances for Pakistan in T20I, playing in 75 of these matches.[11] Hafeez has scored the most runs in total, making 1,305 from 56 innings,[11] and Saeed Ajmal has taken the most number of wickets in T20I cricket, dismissing 85 batsmen over 63 matches.[12][13] Ahmed Shehzad's score of 111 not out, made against Bangladesh in March 2014, is the highest total by a Pakistan batsman in T20I cricket.[14][15] Umar Gul has the best bowling figures in an innings, 5 wickets for 6 runs, which he achieved against New Zealand during the 2009 ICC World Twenty20.[16][17] He repeated the similar performance against South Africa at SuperSport Park in March 2013.[18] Kamran Akmal holds the record for the most number of dismissals with 60.[19][20] Shoaib Malik has taken 26 catches which are the most by a Pakistani fielder.[note 1]

The first list comprises all members of the Pakistan cricket team who have played at least one T20I match. It is initially arranged in the order in which each player won his first Twenty20 cap. Where more than one player won his first Twenty20 cap in the same match, those players are listed alphabetically by surname. The second list is initially arranged in the order in which each captain led the team for the first time.
