Notes

  1. 1 2 Please note that the data for the number of Internet users is based on multiplying an estimate for the percentage of people using the Internet in a given country from one source (usually the ITU) by the population from another source (usually the U.S. Census Bureau). There are not enough significant figures in the percentage estimate for the precise Internet user counts found in the table to be meaningful. As a result, they should not be treated as precise figures or even precise estimates.
  2. 1 2 3 4 5 6 Most of the Internet usage data included in this list comes from 2013 ITU estimates for Internet percentage. However, while they are included on this list, Ascension, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Jersey, Saint Helena, and Wallis and Futuna do not have ITU percentage estimates for 2013. Therefore, the data seen for the aforementioned jurisdictions comes from earlier estimates (some of which are not by the ITU). In order to ensure consistency in the rankings, those jurisdictions are not ranked.
