- Grand Prix of Portland - Portland International Raceway

Cancelled IndyCar Series races and locations
These races were cancelled during the IndyCar season for various reasons. This includes all sanctioning bodies.
- 1917/1918 Indianapolis 500 (AAA) - Indianapolis Motor Speedway (cancelled as the United States entered World War I)
- 1942 Indianapolis 500 (AAA) - Indianapolis Motor Speedway (cancelled as the United States entered World War II. future races would remain halted for the next three years. the Indy 500 would return in 1946)
- 1980 USAC Championship Car season(USAC) - Six Events (Texas World Speedway, Road Atlanta, Milwaukee Mile(second race), Talladega Superspeedway, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Charlotte Motor Speedway were cancelled as USAC started to unite with CART)
- Chicago Indy Grand Prix (CART) - Street of Chicago (Announced in 1980 for a race the following year, however it never came into fruition)
- 1999 VisionAire 500K(IRL) - Charlotte Motor Speedway (race cancelled after 79 laps due to spectator fatalities)
- Hawaiian Super Prix(CART) - Kalaeloa Airport (cancelled by promoter at the last minute)
- Firestone Firehawk 600(CART) - Texas Motor Speedway (cancelled due to safety concerns)
- 2003 King Taco 500(CART) - Auto Club Speedway (cancelled due to the Old Fire natural disaster)
- Grand Prix of Seoul and Grand Prix of Ansan (CCWS) - Street of Seoul/Streets of Ansan (cancelled due to numerous delays)
- 2007 Champ Car season - Three Events - (street races at Denver, Phoenix, and a road course race in China were announced but were never fulfilled mostly due to financial reason)
- 2008 Champ Car season (CCWS) - All races except for three (these races where the Grand Prix of Long Beach, the Edmonton Indy, and the Gold Coast Indy 300 as Champ Car race its sole event at Long Beach and the Indy Racing League took Edmonton and Surfer's Paradise respectively.)
- 2011 IZOD IndyCar World Championship(ICS) - Las Vegas Motor Speedway (race cancelled after 11 laps due to the death of Dan Wheldon)
- Indy Qingdao 600(ICS) - Streets of Qingdao (cancelled by promoters due to logistical reasons)
- Brasilia Indy 300(ICS) - Autódromo Internacional Nelson Piquet (Brasília) (cancelled by the newly elected Brazilian Socialist Party representatives)
