List of Bollywood films of the 1970s
- This list is incomplete; you can help by expanding it.
In the early 1970s the film industry in India churned out many romance movies and action films, though by the end of the year more action films were coming into prominence. In the mid-1970s, romantic confections made way for gritty, violent films about gangsters and bandits.[1] The films made during the 1970s also saw the growth of the Indian music style, and emergence of famous playback singers and music directors such as Kishore Kumar, R.D. Burman and most importantly Amitabh Bachchan as India's daunting superstar.[2]
